Anticipating Secret Dreams

Music and arts festivals just hit different. With the emphasis on creativity through community, patrons become participants in the blink of an eye. Combine those aspects with wholesome amounts of artists and artistry, musicians, the finest producers, and production, all with support from eager and earnest professionals from a variety of trades and walks of life, and you’ll certainly curate a singularly unique experience populated by amazing and wondrous happenings. Entertainment so pure, you don’t need a tester kit to know it’s real. It begs the question; can a music festival change a life? Let me tell you about Secret Dreams.

Perhaps you’ve heard of Tipper, and his friends? At times, they take over, and throw smashing, one-of-a-kind, performances that are lovely to attend. Smart, fun, razzle dazzling, zazz filled explorations of various auditory landscapes. Tipper himself is glitchy, hoppy, zesty, and wubby to detail simply. This playboy bumps. He harbors a remarkable range between ambient, down, and up tempos, and shows little difficulty in their blending. An old school scratcher, when the tables need turning, Dave does the duty as a gentleman of great skill and rapport. Among my all-time favorites from Tipper’s extensive arsenal of masterpieces is “Off Kilter”. It’s a kind of personal anthem, a spirited tune that carries one, such as me, into and through a variety of sequences.

Add to the ranks of Tipper, and his crew of audio accomplices, fine performing folk the likes of Papadosio, STS9, Griz, Lettuce, The Werks, Of the Trees, and Detox Unit, and you’re banging on all cylinders. Then, add another fifty musical acts including, but not limited to, Daily Bread, Megan Hamilton, Break Science, Maddy O’Neal, Yheti, Cool Customer, Jason Leech, Andy Frasco and the U.N., Late Night Radio, Somatoast, a whole lot more, and you are absolutely primed for party mode. There’s literally something for every kind of musical taste present at Secret Dreams.

As good as Secret Dreams already sounds, it gets better. The art community comes out strong in support, and nearly everywhere you walk, you’ll find gifted imagineers manifesting the musings of their mind’s eye, to soul’s content, for all the world to see. These visionaries plan and execute movements that shape, through measured strokes of confidence. Watch as they form fantasy realms through effecting the most minute of details. It’s a fine metaphor for life’s sensations.

Among my favorite aspects of Secret Dreams Music and Arts Festival is how accessible everything feels. You can admire the talents of visual artists of great, and growing renown, the likes of Aaron Brooks, Sofi Rami, Gavinger, Kara Timmons, Ellie Paisely, Chris Dyer, Psykiss, Pat Marek, Mr. Melty, Subloominal, Sweet Melis, and Tom Loranz, to name but a few, and they’ll all happily share bits of their time discussing demeanor, method, practice, preparation, approach, and much of anything related to the passionate pursuit of life’s happiness. You’ll find musicians and performers casually strolling the grounds interacting with fans and supporters much the same, and there’s a pervasive sense of peace, love, unity, and respect that exists throughout. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, and who knows what talents will be on display to discover, what activities will be endeavored this year? Did I mention art installations, daily yoga, and workshops, spread between three stages among a community camped throughout?

If the happenings of the first iteration of Secret Dreams are any indications towards the occasion that will become the second, those in attendance can rest easy knowing that ingenious dreamers are fully invested in equipping our spirits with a cadre of skill points which we can use in customizing our soulful characters. If a music festival does indeed change a life’s trajectory, it does so because it hosts occurrences and encounters that encourage and enable explorers to direct how they navigate their journeys. When we realize the things of which we dream can become part and parcel to our realities, the worlds we inhabit begin to transform through efforts we dedicate.

Come to Secret Dreams, it’ll be fun, I say. There’s no telling whom you’ll cross paths with, or how they’ll help in the shaping of you. I’ll let you know; Secret Dreams is going to be fantastic.

Be well, be successful. Bear Swiftly.
