We’re just a couple of days away from Syndicate Sound Session 007, and it is shaping up to be a special episode unlike any other. Happening on Saturday, February 22, 2025, we’re heading back to Bass Station in Waukegan, IL. The last time? November 2, 2024, with a Syndicate Sound Takeover in the side room in supporting Wub Life X Ether presents, SubDocta with Shanghai Doom. This time, it’s all Suburban Sound Syndicate, and we’ve got big plans in store for this one, folks! Twelve acts on two separate stages, in addition to everything you’ve come to expect from our community minded organization. Yep, this one’s absolutely shaping up to be one helluva smashing good time.
Every Syndicate Sound Session is special in its own way, but this one is going to have a unique vibe all its own. With headliners like Random Rab returning to Illinois after seven years, along with Rhizomorphic and Dillard, a downtempo vibe is sure to be front and center. Add to that Hoopla, Darkstar, Sopphire, and an opening sound healing performance from Harmonic Waves, and that’s just the main stage. A second stage dubbed the Fungus Light Stage will feature its own assembly of talent. Bassdrx, SimonSays, Meta Essence, Skeduleone, and Had Matter. Crikeys, there’s so much variety in talent and style being represented here, it will be a beautiful spectacle to behold. It’s set to be a laid-back event, perfect for all you chill and cool cats out there who are set to join us, but there’s plenty of fire in store to warm many a soul during this February cold.

Speaking of fire, Celestial Ember Collective has got the green light to bring the heat! Kataya will lead a contingent of four fire mavens including Isa Todisco, Fiammaya, and Atlasgoddess. You can bet your bottom dollar, there’s going to be some breathtaking displays of fire mastery and belly dancing from these four. They’ve been diligently working on choreographed pieces between themselves to show off their group capabilities for body manipulation in presenting a dark fusion theme. Flow artistry is provocative, and fire spinning is elemental. It’s gonna be hot, hot, hot, baby!

A staple of all Syndicate Sound Sessions to date has been the boutique experience offered by live painters, and this episode continues that trend. We’ve got Dakota Rogers, Camille’s Dreamland, Tom Loranz, and The Whimsical Libra returning. Heck yes, and these homies will be joined by newcomers Dabblerz Art from Colorado and local standout Pharaoh Kemet. All delightful and personable characters who will be working on canvases throughout the night, celebrating this unique community with their dreamy talents.

If that wasn’t ALREADY enough, there’s even more in store I gotta tell you about. The visual elements on stage are sure to be well represented. Birdsigh is bringing an LED wall ensuring visuals will look top-notch and Nuvotion is building a TV wall. Deep Frequency Corp is once again bringing the frickin’ lasers, and you can always count on Jerry Snackman to have them tuned up tight, just right, to impress your eyesight throughout the night. The visual jockeys who will be running the main stage include Alpha Outsourced, Oogz, and Psyonaura Visions. Even better, I got your VJ+DJ pairings, right here, bud. Alpha Outsourced will lend his coded frequencies to Random Rab and Rhizomorphic. Oogz will be dealing for Dillard and Darkstar, and Psyonaura Visions will handle duties on behalf of Hoopla, Sopphire, and Harmonic Waves Healing.
Finally, it wouldn’t be a Syndicate Sound Session without some terrific vendors on hand assisting patrons in adding cool stuff to their collections. All Things Wook, Ancient Herbals, D & A Wellness, Nomadiknymph, Galactic Roots Eclectic, EVOL Chicago, and Ocean Wolf Creations will have everything from apparel to jewelry and trinkets. Plus, some holistic products for those who prefer to care for and nurture their bodies through that which is provided by Mother Nature. I’m not talking about pine cones and leaves; I’m speaking in terms of soaps and all natural remedies. Clean mind, body, and soul. Perfect! Also, Josh Melfi and WeMakeThings3D will once again be on site and erecting another wonderful art installation, the Mushroom Forest, to delight all explorers.

With all that’s in store for this Syndicate Sound Session, and they get better and better with every iteration, episode 007 is set to be a special occasion unlike any previous occurrence. Save the date, and grab your tickets on the website, no fees included. What? Who does that? Suburban Sound Syndicate, that’s who! Just another of the many ways we put the community first. Save some dough, because who knows what you’ll come across on your expedition through Bass Station you might end up wanting to add to your collection…
Oh yea, and I shouldn’t forget to mention. Sub Valley Sound once again is supplying their gorgeous sounding Funktion-One rig ensuring everything will sound superb, and you can always count on top-notch audio engineering thanks to Ricky Havensak of The III Studios. Plus, Andrew Massih and Chicago Amp is providing videography support. Wowser Bowser, boys and girls, what more could you possibly want? Your friends? Bring e’m and enjoy some complementary green tea available throughout the evening.
