Astrality, aka Daniele Cataneo, has carved out his own niche in the sphere of electronic music thanks to his penchant for blending genres like techno, house, and pop. The music he creates is deeply personal and reflects a plethora of inspiration from artists like Daft Punk, Disclosure, John Lee Hooker, and Jamiroquai to name a few. Based in Rome, Italy, Daniele is a musical aficionado who imprints the best of himself into everything he touches.
Daniele has always harbored a vibrant love for music. He began playing piano at the age of nine before picking up the guitar to jam some rock and blues with friends in his formative teenage years. As life progressed, he began writing his own songs before making his way into the world of electronic dance music, initially as a drum and bass DJ. Before long, he was producing his own tracks. He’s been creating music since 2011, but it wasn’t until the global COVID pandemic where he began enjoying widespread acclaim for all the time and energy he’s invested over his lifetime in pursuit of his love for making music. After entering Disclosure’s inaugural remix contest, he caught the attention of the German label, Selected. His debut single, ‘Alone Together’, went viral in Belgium and Switzerland (thisisastrality.com).
On September 26, 2025, Astrality released his latest track, a remix of London based multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer Tommy Down’s, ‘Mrs Blue’. The original features an Al Green-inspired rhythm section and a delicate, atmospheric organ subtly woven with airy backing vocals. ‘Mrs Blue’ reflects the tender ache of pining with a blend of admiration and profound melancholy. Astrality infused his own signature sound through meticulous melodies and house rhythms while preserving Tommy Down’s vocals with renewed rhythmic vigor allowing the robust passionate effect of the song to soar to new heights.
Astrality shared this thought about why he decided to pursue remixing this track. “As soon as I heard the record I was very interested in giving it my own spin. The challenge was preserving and even accentuating the intense emotional delivery of Tommy’s vocals.”
Needless to say, Astrality hit his mark. The remixed version of ‘Mrs Blue’ retains all the vocal elements that make the original version beautifully unique while punching it up for dance floors everywhere. Mission successful, objective complete.
